Transition in Heavy Mesons
A class of |∆s| = 1 transition is analyzed in the D+ s −D+ and B̄0 s−B̄ systems. Short distance Wilson coefficients are calculated within HQET. Novel features of the transitions are discussed. We find that these transitions are unobservable in the standard model. PACS: 12.15.Mm, 13.90.+i, 14.40.Lb, 14.40.Nd
متن کاملDecays of Heavy Mesons
The full O(a)-improvement of the Wilson action and bilinear quark operators [ 1], was tested in spectroscopy and proved to be efficient, namely the hadronic masses and decay constants indeed converge faster to their continuum limit values. Improved operators, including the O(a)-free renormalization constants (RC’s), have been used to determine the values of the light quark masses. The next impo...
متن کاملSemileptonic decays of heavy mesons
The semileptonic and leptonic decays of heavy mesons are studied as a phenomenological application and exploration of a heavy-quark limit of Dyson-Schwinger equations. The single form factor, ξ(w), which characterises the semileptonic decay in this limit, is calculated and compares well with recent experimental extractions. We obtain a lower bound of 1/3 on the slope-parameter ρ2 ≡ −ξ′(1), whic...
متن کاملAn Introduction To Heavy Mesons
Introductory lectures on heavy quarks and heavy quark effective field theory. Applications to inclusive semileptonic decays and to interactions with light mesons are covered in detail.
متن کاملMesons with One Heavy Quark
I review the properties of mesons with one heavy quark. I start by examining the predicted masses and widths in the context of the quark model and heavy quark effective theory. Some recent experimental results are described and I conclude with comments on potentially interesting future experimental studies.
